Are you a Veteren and ready to buy a home?
Recently Elizabeth and I attended a class on Leveraging FHA and VA Opportunities. There was plenty of new information covered but one bit of information really hit home to me, the VA program. Sally and I bought our first home through the VA progam. Sold the motorcycle and bought a house. Even today it’s a great way to either get your first home or move up with your next. How about a conforming loan amount up to $550,000 in King and Snohomish counties and have the loan at 100% of the value of the home? Maybe the house you are looking at is priced above the $550,000. You can still obtain a loan by paying 25% of the difference between $550,000 and the price of the home up to $1,500.000. VA does have a funding fee for loan amounts depending upon how much is put down and if it is your first time or subsequent use of a VA loan.
Want to go after it? Obtain the following: 1) A CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY. 2) Locate your DISCHARGE PAPERS from the armed forces. 3) Obtain VA Form 26-8261a, REQUEST FOR CERTIFICATE OF VETERAN STATUS. 4) IF you have previously used a VA loan you will need a Certificate of Entitlement. Once you have the necessary paperwork, contact a lender that processes VA mortgage loans and start the loan process.
